The Libertarian Party of Knox County (LPKC) is made up of ordinary Hoosiers around Knox County who have abandoned the two-party deception and demanded quality representation in a limited government once again.

Why should I join the Libertarian Party?
The REAL question here is why should you join ANY political party?
A political party is nothing more than a tool for individuals with similar political opinions to use to combine efforts and resources to elect candidates that fall within those parameters. As opposed to independent candidates, who can be anywhere on the political/philosophical spectrum's, and usually have no previous existing infrastructure in any way from which to build.
Therefore, any candidate in any basically functioning political affiliate should generally have advantages over an independent (provided that independent doesn’t already have name recognition or lots of money to start with). So, if you tend to agree with the platform (LP.org/platform), which are very generic Libertarian positions on the issues, you might consider joining The Libertarian Party.
However, you’ve probably figured out that it’s possible to support The Libertarian Party in other ways and vote for Libertarians without actually joining. You’d be absolutely right, and you’d still be sending that very important signal that you are withdrawing your support from not only that particular candidate who might be promising authoritarian policies or legislation but from the two party illusion in general which stifles competition artificially. You can join today at no cost and participate locally with the Knox County Libertarians as we volunteer to serve our community, represent the party with us at public events and even help us plan and resource all our goals at monthly meetings. We want no barriers to entry!
Unfortunately, politics, as much as we hate it, is a game which runs on money, among other things. Advertising, signs, food for volunteers, shirts, and many other bills need to be paid for even when there isn’t a campaign. With those costs in mind, we have other membership levels to tailor the way you want to support local liberty to your life.
If you see the value in coordinated community effort in electing the best representation possible, you might consider joining The Libertarian Party. Because we’re members of our community who happen to be Libertarians. We know that if we don’t take matters in into our own hands while voicing the best alternative to the old parties then no one else will and the many who live with us in our communities who wanted that option and wanted to be a part of the movement but can’t lead the effort will have to settle for “the lesser of two evils”. If the two old parties are two evils, let’s stop choosing evil.
Membership with your local/state Libertarian Party provides the support and funds with a value much more than otherwise. You can give your money to any candidate, any party or to no one. Giving to the old parties has little to no effect because they don’t need your money while PAC’s, super PAC’s and wealthy corporate donors influence their votes with their huge donations. The Libertarian Party has no such donors. We exist off the support of the people who seek to help volunteers in their community and elect candidates who pledge to protect civil liberties and individual rights no matter the context, no matter the person.
